More boobs, less belly

I’ve always been a bit busty for my size (5’4″).  In high school I was a very full C cup.  Two kids later and major pounds and I’m a DDD.  The weight loss has not really affected the girls.  I was kind of hoping they’d shrink a little with the rest of me, but no dice.  Carrying these chicks around isn’t all that great for my back, which, I found out today at the doctor’s office, is riddled with arthritis, as well as my hips, knees and ankles.  Hence the pain I’ve been in.  Yay, me!  Like I needed another thing wrong with me, right?

I’ve fussed and worried that the scale would betray me this week, as it has on many an occasion before.  In hopes that my worry was unwarranted, I got up and got dressed this morning in my favorite black t-shirt.  A t-shirt, I might add, that I constantly tugged at the hem.  Because of my sizeable belly, I worry it’s hanging out like those Creatures of Wal-Mart pics (seriously, stop taking those!  It’s just mean!).  It used to roll up on me so I stopped wearing it because of that fear.

When I put it on today there was no rolling.  In fact, the hem was further down on my body than it used to be.  I ran–literally–to the gigantic bathroom mirror, a wall I try never to look at because I don’t like what I see.  I stood sideways and noticed that there’s LESS belly there.  I looked down and for the first time in years I noticed my boobs more than my belly.

And THAT is freaking awesome!

When I went to my meeting this evening I found out why my t-shirt fits me so nicely.  I reached a weight loss of 15 pounds!  Waahooo!  What made me happier than meeting that 15 pound marker was that I have had two weeks of consistent weight LOSS, something that hasn’t happened in over a month.

My reward for reaching this marker:  I am going to list for you all the things that weigh 15 pounds.  It’s an awesome visual and so motivating!

So keep your fingers crossed for more weight loss next week!

10 dozen eggs

2 gallons of water

60 sticks of butter

7500 plain M&Ms

15 packs of hot dogs

9 grapefruits

All of these books (two of those are George R. R. Martin books!)
